THC vs CBD: What’s the Difference?

You’ll see both THC and CBD on product labels, menus, and signs all over our store. But if you're standing in line trying to make sense of what it all means, you're not alone. These two cannabinoids are everywhere, and they do very different things.

THC gets you high. CBD doesn’t.

That’s the simplest way to put it. THC is the one that causes a noticeable high. You might feel relaxed, hungry, giggly, spaced out, sleepy, or totally zoned in, depending on the strain and your body.

CBD doesn’t do that. People who use CBD say it helps them feel calm or more balanced. Some say it eases pain or tension. It doesn’t mess with your thinking or change how you feel mentally. That’s why you’ll find CBD in things like oils, lotions, capsules, and gummies without the heavy effects of THC.

Both come from cannabis. Both are legal in New Jersey.

They’re both natural compounds found in the cannabis plant. Some strains are high in THC. Others are rich in CBD. And some have both in different amounts. At The Jersey Joint, we carry a wide range of flower, vapes, tinctures, and edibles with all kinds of THC-to-CBD ratios.

Since legalization in New Jersey, more people in Glassboro have been exploring both options. Some want the full THC experience. Others want something more mellow, or they just want relief without the buzz.

How THC feels

THC affects people in different ways. One person might feel calm and happy. Another might get sleepy or anxious. It depends on the strain, how much you take, and your own body chemistry.

If you’re near 7-11 State Street and just want something to take the edge off after work, a small dose of THC might do the trick. But if you're new to it, start slow. Potency varies a lot, especially in edibles.

How CBD feels

CBD feels more subtle. It’s not going to shift your mood in a big way. You might just notice less tension in your shoulders or that you’re more clear-headed than before. Some folks in Glassboro use it before bed or after workouts. Some keep it in their bag for anxious moments. You’ll even find it in some topicals at local shops near Rowan.

It works best when used regularly, kind of like a supplement. It’s not about instant results. It's more of a slow build over time.

Can you mix them?

Yes. A lot of people like products that have both THC and CBD. They balance each other out. CBD can actually soften the intensity of THC, which helps if you're looking for something smoother.

For example, if you're visiting from nearby Mullica Hill or Clayton and want to stay functional but still ease pain or stress, a product with a 1:1 ratio might work well. You’ll find options like that at here.

Choosing the right one

Think about what you want to feel. Are you trying to unwind after work? Looking to get some rest? Need to focus? Or are you just tired of feeling sore all the time?

If you’re still figuring it out, talk to one of our budtenders. Whether you’re shopping for THC-heavy flower or a CBD tincture you can carry in your pocket, we’ll help you sort it out.
